The first comment I had (as a David Allen’s “open loop” that was draining my energy) from the point of view of Peter Drucker on this post was about what McKinsey’s “Eric Beinhocker and Nick Hanauer took on the topic, they put it this way: ‘Prosperity in a society is the accumulation of solutions to human problems.’” It seem to contradict what Drucker said: “Results are gained by exploiting opportunities, not by solving problems.” I waited to say that as it seem not to be nice to say it. Not anymore.

Today I have the second comment that I believe may be well taken that comes from my response to the “very timely and valuable “McKinsey Quarterly April 2017 article “The global forces inspiring a new narrative of progress.” That article has 9 forces organized in three groups:

1) Global growth shifts
2) Accelerating industry disruption
3) A new societal deal

The insight is that problems induce blindspot towards headwinds trends, which opportunities do not on tailwind trends in a world under the Computing Big Shift.
