    Interesting presentation of the ambidexterity: we need both a technology of rationality (exploit) & Technology of foolishness. it’s human to waste time, delay things, play around & mess things up. Otherwise there won‘t be innovation! @herminialbarra

    I have learned (and stolen) so much from - what got you here won’t get you there, “adding too much value.” Still trying to apply the knowing when to just shut up part.

    Pursue what is interesting — use your intuition for what you find novel in this world to integrate the process and the goal. Even better, discover your passion to find out what is consistently interesting for you - that will accelerate your growth

    I wrote my first paper on the technology of foolishness in 1988 with president Mary Ann Glynn. Have been thinking about it since.

    Hope he inspires more ethnographies of “the present of work.”

    . mentions Donald Roy's (1959) classic paper 'Banana Time', which showed that to survive work monotony, we need pockets of joy, slack and fun. As relevant today, as 60 years ago.

    Yes, Koestler said it all on creativity. And, creativity is the residue of time wasted. And so guilt- assuaging too!

    echoes ’s Too Fast to Think. Like Einstein said “creativity is the residue of time wasted”. We need more time to do nothing & be foolish, to play. Arthur Koestler said this too in The Act of Creation 1964. We agree
